Hans Roach Gains Momentum as Independent Voice for Waterloo

As the 2025 federal election campaign powers toward the April 28 election day, independent candidate Hans Roach is turning heads in Waterloo with a bold, community-first vision.

While the major parties dominate the airwaves with tariff debates and partisan posturing, Roach is earning grassroots support for his focus on local priorities and his break from the traditional party mold.

“I’m not here to follow a party script or bow to Ottawa’s elite,” Roach said at a recent gathering with Waterloo residents. “This riding deserves a voice that puts its people ahead of political games or foreign agendas. That’s why I’m running as an independent—and it’s why I’m hearing such enthusiasm at the doors.”

With the campaign now past its one-third mark, Roach’s momentum is on the rise. Supporters point to his emphasis on affordability, innovation, and strengthening Waterloo’s tech-driven economy—issues that hit home in a riding renowned as Canada’s Silicon Valley North. Free from party constraints, Roach is laser-focused on what matters most to Waterloo’s diverse and dynamic community.

Local entrepreneur Priya Patel praised Roach’s independent stance: “Hans understands Waterloo. He’s talking about supporting our startups and keeping our region competitive, not just parroting a national line. It’s a breath of fresh air.”

Running as an independent against well-resourced party machines is no small feat, but Roach’s growing buzz signals that Waterloo voters are craving an alternative. “This election isn’t just about Liberals or Conservatives—it’s about who’ll fight for us,” he said. “I’m here to do exactly that.”
